Is responsible for the routine and non-routine repair and boiler & refrigeration equipment and systems. Operates and maintains equipment and systems in compliance with established Company and PSM standards. Successfully performs assigned activities that optimizes and sustains equipment operation and reliability to maximize plant production and uptime with minimal Lead or Management assistance. Is a recognized SME (Subject Matter Expert) on a minimum of 1 piece of equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for routine and non-routine repair of boiler & refrigeration equipment and systems
Operates and maintains equipment in compliance with Company and PSM standards
Performs assigned activities to optimize equipment operation and reliability
Maintains and promotes safe work practices
Performs safe isolation, shut down, inspection, cleaning, adjustment, repair/overhaul or startup of equipment
Performs and documents line checks, corrective and preventive maintenance
Records operational data in logs and sheets
Adjusts controls to bring equipment into operating ranges
Performs troubleshooting to identify defects and root cause
Operates and maintains steam, condensate and water conditioning systems
Performs non-routine jobs as assigned
Maintains 5S standards
Uses SAP to locate equipment data and parts
Submits Notifications for deficiencies
Examines parts to identify defects
Assists in repairs in other plant areas
Participates in Daily Management System (DMS)
Cuts and bonds materials using various processes
Uses hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
Assists in coaching new or lower-class employees
Operates Powered Lift Trucks, Scissor Lifts, and other equipment
Requirements:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
one-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of two years education and related experience and/or training
Ability to read, comprehend, write, and present information in English
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions
Required to pass a pulmonary/fit test annually
Must be able to differentiate between stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum materials
Must be able to work the scheduled days, shifts, times and overtime required
Will have successfully passed the advancement test for 2nd Class Boiler & Refrigeration Operator
Required to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to advance to a 1st Class Boiler & Refrigeration Operator within 18 months
