Job Description

Ensure service and repairs are carried out effectively and accurately to achieve the highest possible standards for technical quality within the Bodyshop.

Job Responsibility

  • Implement operational workshop loading system in line with company policy/procedures, ensuring all targets and deadlines are met or addressed
  • Liaise with office logistics staff to monitor the number of vehicles coming into the site for repair
  • Optimum utilisation of resources within area of responsibility as set out in targets
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Awareness and compliance with Health and Safety requirements in the workshop, and responsibility of personal protection equipment worn by the staff in the areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for notification of potential Health and Safety risk to the people who may be directly affected by the risk
  • Monitor and control workshop output and efficiencies
  • Verbal explanation of the repair procedure and process to the workshop and customers and variable levels of understanding
  • Implement the use of workshop equipment when allocating tasks
  • Ability to value a vehicle at a market value in order to determine the repairable economics of a damaged vehicle
  • Adhere to material wastage targets
  • Ensure no customer vehicle or contents is damaged/lost while vehicles under repair

Requirements

  • An understanding of the repair industry, vehicle legislation and trade practices
  • Knowledge of all aspects of Health and Safety including an understanding of the provisions of E.P.A. and Risk Assessment
  • Computer literate
  • Leadership and coaching attributes
  • Knowledge of repair process
  • Vehicle construction knowledge
  • The ability to work under pressure

  • Organise the required staffing levels so that the business can run at optimum efficiency without jeopardising both the quality and profitability of repairs within the business
  • Shall be primarily responsible for recruitment and liaise with the Training Department regarding training needs. Deal with staffing issues on a day-to-day basis including Annual Reviews, Disciplinary, and Grievance
  • Have sufficient knowledge of what skills are required from these staff
  • Audit the body shop to ensure that there are no delays and that productivity is maintained
  • Ensure that the business is operating within the requirements of the customers SLA’s
  • to achieve this, you must understand the requirements and drivers so that we can demonstrate a commitment to our customers
  • Ensure all operations are completed to the highest standard throughout the business and in line with the requirements of BS10125:2022, and that we can demonstrate an audit trail within the site to prove this happens, to prevent any loss of approval by insurer/manufacturer. Also demonstrating the highest customer satisfaction, you can offer
  • The post holder will deal with all complaints and manage to resolution and will submit reports in relation to any formal complaints to the directors as required
  • Report, discuss, understand, and control the measurements within each area of the business, KPIs, profit margins and forecast results regularly to be proactive to the measurements at any point in time. These measurements need to be kept in line with the budgets and requirements of the business
  • To be aware of all the housekeeping and health and safety regulations and policies applicable to the business and ensure the site/staff always operate within the law. The post holder will be required to monitor working practices at the site and to offer guidance and instruction to staff as required
