The level II Technologist in the Blood Bank's Clinical Laboratory is responsible for performing, evaluating, and reporting of technical laboratory testing on patient specimens for use in the transfusion of blood products. Follows established procedures to ensure laboratory quality control and compliance with professional standards of practice.
Job Responsibility:
Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, instruments and equipment
Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner
Reports test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols
Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures
Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures
Serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed
Requirements:
Bachelors (Required)
Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
Clinical Lab Technologist License (TN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
Minimum of three (3) years' work experience required as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Associate's degree with five (5) years or more of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
Florida State License as a Technologist (TN License) or Supervisor (SU License) in the area of responsibility
Nice to have:
2-3 years experience working in a Hospital Transfusion Services (Blood Bank) or a Blood Center
