Job Description:

Manages the feed production (may include the litter operation) and delivery operations. Services our customers on time and ensures them of a quality production.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversees the feed production from receiving through field placement service
  • Ensures that the feed produced meets nutritional guidelines and that feed is inventoried and delivered as scheduled
  • Oversees the maintenance and housekeeping of the feed mill with a preventative maintenance program
  • Develops operating schedules, work and downtime schedule and conducts parts inventory
  • May negotiate litter contracts
  • Compiles and analyzes production reports
  • Interprets and communicates statistical findings to management team members
  • Establishes goals and project plans
  • provides budget administration
  • Complies and follows company requirements regarding bio-security, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times
  • Communicates daily with customers and inter-company personnel
  • Maintains a safe working environment

Requirements:

  • High School or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of Feed Mill supervisory experience
  • Strong reading, math, writing, communication (oral and written), and analytical skills with a statistical background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field preferred
  • Leadership in manufacturing operations and technologies preferred
  • Management of safety programs and requirements preferred
  • Management environmental programs and requirements preferred
  • Understanding of commodity markets preferred
  • Understanding of standard software applications preferred
  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills preferred
