Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Blaster/Painter Working Leaderman with preferably at least 5 years of shipbuilding/repair experience or 3 years of continuous Company experience in a similar position. The candidate will direct their workforce in the successful implementation of craft-specific activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and/or repair functions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Directs and coordinates related craft activities
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains schedules, budgets and other essential records
  • Provides specific task requirements, technical and hands-on guidance to subordinates
  • Responds to daily personnel, equipment and facility issues
  • develops viable solutions and remedial actions
  • Trains and motivates workforce to result in high levels of productivity
  • Optimizes efforts to produce a high-quality work product consistent with Company standards
  • Meets with other supervisors to coordinate craft efforts
  • Ensures material and labor resources necessary to accomplish tasks are readily available

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of shipbuilding/repair experience or 3 years of continuous Company experience in a similar position preferred
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques
  • Well-organized supervisor with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling
  • Has good basic knowledge of shipbuilding/repair activities
  • Familiar with standard marine practice and general specifications for construction
  • Can perform labor estimates and planning manning schedules
  • Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude
  • Works well with other craft supervisors
  • Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other technical guidance documentation
