Our Biomedical Engineering Technologist creates better patient outcomes through hands-on maintenance, calibration, safety testing, troubleshooting, and user support for medical devices. Parexel Early Phase Clinical Unit supports the development of innovative new medicines which are vital for public health, improving outcomes, and saving lives.
Job Responsibility:
Perform and document maintenance activities for medical equipment and systems according to legal requirements and regulations
Assist with receipt, installation, and functional testing of new medical devices
Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot issues, make repairs, and support equipment related projects
Provide training to clinical staff on proper medical equipment usage and care
Create training materials and SOPs as needed
Assist in providing deliverables for sponsor audits and inspections
Other medical device related tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal skills to work with internal and external teams as related to medical device use, maintenance and troubleshooting
Self-starter able to work independently to manage varied tasks and prioritize workload while maintaining impeccable attention to detail
Proven aptitude to train team members on medical equipment and systems
Strategic problem-solver capable of providing technical support for medical equipment and/or systems
Desire to work in a clinical environment alongside nurses, physicians, and study teams with a focus on patient care
2 years’ applicable experience in medical devices which could include but is not limited to
healthcare professionals with a strong technical affinity, vocational training in electronics, mechatronics, or medical technology, and/or certificate programs in Biomedical Equipment Technology
Must have adequate knowledge of clinical research, FDA regulations, and legal requirements of medical devices
