The biomass processing specialist will be responsible for providing the execution support for plant engineering and field trials for the fuel processing / quality assurance equipment. He will be responsible for evaluation and installation of the plant machinery for optimum cost and throughput. He will undertake the field trials and performance validations for new fuels processing equipment. He will also be responsible for installation, calibration, trouble shooting, field training and life cycle maintenance of the Field Test Kits.
Job Responsibility:
Provide execution support for plant engineering and field trials for the fuel processing / quality assurance equipment
Evaluation and installation of the plant machinery for optimum cost and throughput
Undertake field trials and performance validations for new fuels processing equipment
Installation, calibration, trouble shooting, field training and life cycle maintenance of the Field Test Kits
Collaborate with fuel processing business team to deliver first time right plant engineering for the shortest order to commissioning time
Ensure fuel processing equipment are subjected to rigorous performance validation trials to deliver their committed output
Ensure the smooth running of QA program through Field Test Kits (FTK)
OEM interactions for selection of the right partners for the process equipment at pre-order stage
OEM interactions for design and optimizing layouts for biomass processing equipment installations at post order stage
Conduct field trials to validate equipment performance and reliability
Coordinate with OEMs for equipment specifications, troubleshooting, and upgrades
Analyze machine performance data and identify areas for efficiency improvement
Support troubleshooting and maintenance activities at plant
Evaluate new machinery and OEMs for suitability and cost-effectiveness
Calculate cost per ton of biomass processing and identify avenues for cost reduction
Implement productivity improvement strategies across multiple locations
Lead continuous improvement projects including Kaizen
Document and disseminate best practices to reduce inefficiencies and waste
Support the FTK program for installation, calibration, training and troubleshooting of FTK
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and improvements
Disseminate learnings and best practices through training sessions and workshops, articles, explainer documents, and SOPs
Requirements:
BE Mech or Prod / Diploma with 10+ years of strong experience
5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in equipment layout design, field trials, and machinery optimization
Familiarity with biomass processing technologies and equipment such as briquetting, pelleting, bio char, and gasification plants
Experience working with OEMs for equipment evaluation
Skilled in analyzing operational data and driving cost and productivity
Led or participated in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen
A self-starter who can make independent decisions based on field data
Comfortable working across multiple locations and coordinating with diverse teams
Detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to operational excellence
Takes ownership and accountability and follows through on tasks
Willingness to travel extensively across rural and semi-urban areas
Ability to multitask – managing field trials and OEM interactions at the same time when on duty
Experience working with biomass processing plant (Briquettes/ Pellets/ CBG/ Biochar) is added advantage
