Job Description

A Good secondary school in East London are looking for a qualified Biology Teacher to join their school on full-time Maternity contract for a year starting in September 2026. In this role you will be teaching General Science and Biology to KS5. You will join a supportive and dynamic Science Department which benefit from the school's Mathematics & Science Specialism with 15 modern and well-equipped laboratories. Computers in multiple laboratories and mobile wireless laptops with data-logging facilities places the Science Department at the cutting edge of science information technology. At Key Stage 3, pupils are given a solid foundation in the Science National Curriculum which is developed further at GCSE when alternative courses are available, including Separate Sciences. Many students take Biology, Chemistry, Physics at 'A' Level achieving above average grades. The school also offers a BTEC in applied science which you will be involved in teaching. This large comprehensive school is based in East London is rated good by Ofsted. The school is committed to educating and support pupils to become confident and successful young people and is very popular within the local community. Staff at the school have high expectations for students and pupil behaviour is good. The senior leadership are committed to ensuring there is high quality teaching, in a safe and friendly environment.
