Job Responsibility:
Specialist Instruction: Plan and deliver an engaging Biology curriculum that challenges students and fosters a deep curiosity about biological processes
Practical Leadership: Oversee and demonstrate safe, captivating laboratory experiments-from microscopy and dissections to ecological sampling
Academic Achievement: Prepare Year 11 (and potentially Year 13) students for their examinations through targeted revision, mock assessments, and personalised feedback
Inclusive Pedagogy: Differentiate your teaching methods to ensure Biology is accessible and stimulating for learners of all abilities and backgrounds
Environmental Advocacy: Encourage students to engage with global biological issues, such as biodiversity, conservation, and biotechnology
Progress Tracking: Use data-driven insights to monitor student progress and implement effective interventions to help every pupil reach their potential
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is mandatory
A relevant degree in Biology, Biomedical Science, or a closely related discipline
Proven experience teaching the UK Biology curriculum at the Secondary level
Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe, ethical laboratory environment
Excellent communication skills to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents
An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
