Job Description

As a BIM Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting project teams by coordinating, managing and delivering BIM models in line with project and Aurecon standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinating BIM models across disciplines, with a focus on MEP services
  • Performing clash detection using Navisworks and leading coordination and resolution reviews
  • Facilitating and attending BIM and coordination meetings with consultants, clients and internal project teams
  • Ensuring models and outputs comply with project BIM standards, workflows and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
  • Working closely with design engineers, site teams and stakeholders to resolve design and constructability issues
  • Designing and modelling Mechanical or Electrical services using Revit
  • Producing accurate and coordinated drawings and BIM outputs for MEP services using Revit
  • Supporting continuous improvement of BIM processes and best practices across projects

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
  • Minimum 2 years of design experience in Electrical Engineering with a strong BIM focus
  • Hands-on experience using Revit for MEP modelling and documentation
  • Working knowledge of BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud and Navisworks for coordination and clash detection
  • Experience delivering building projects (e.g. commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, or similar)
  • Good understanding of BIM standards, workflows and coordination processes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

  • Provide engineering to develop construction documents for the installation, interconnection and control of architectural, electrical, and mechanical components
  • Possess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design and/or analyze electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of architectural, electrical and mechanical components
  • Using applicable codes and standards, design and engineer lighting and power distribution systems, low voltage systems (fire alarm systems, telecommunications, data networks, lighting control systems, power monitoring systems, etc.), including sizing of equipment, etc.
  • Review and/or establish project scope, electrical budget, design approach, and applicable constraints with the Project Manager or client as appropriate
  • Knowledge of the NEC and other relevant NFPA standards, as they apply to the electrical design
  • Adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule
  • Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages of lighting, power systems, etc.
  • Possess / demonstrate the graphic ability to produce construction documents per company and client standards
  • Collaborate with project teams, including Project Manager, Electrical Engineer, and client, to define project scope, budget and design approach
