Job Description

The BIM Coordinator is an entry-level career technical role supporting the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes on active projects. Working under the direction of the BIM Manager and in coordination with project leadership, this role focuses on day-to-day model coordination, standards compliance, and multidisciplinary integration rather than firm-wide BIM strategy. The BIM Coordinator helps ensure that project models are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with established BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), supporting efficient collaboration among architectural, structural, and MEP teams. This position represents a growth-oriented pathway toward more advanced BIM coordination, leadership, or BIM management roles. • Support the preparation and maintenance of federated models for coordination review using tools such as Revit and Navisworks
  • Run basic clash detection processes and assist in documenting coordination issues for review by project leadership
  • Help ensure project teams follow established BIM Execution Plans, modeling standards, naming conventions, and file organization protocols defined by the BIM Manager
  • Perform routine model checks focused on consistency, completeness, and compliance with project standards
  • Assist with version control and model exchanges within the Common Data Environment (CDE)
  • Provide first tier BIM and Revit support to project teams, escalating complex issues to the BIM Manager or Project BIM Lead as appropriate
  • Support project teams during coordination reviews and internal QA/QC processes
  • Assist in documenting BIM issues, resolutions, and coordination decisions for project records
  • Utilize firm-approved templates, families, and libraries
  • assist in their application, but does not own firm-wide content or standards development
  • Support testing of BIM workflows or tools when directed by the BIM Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • 2–4 years of experience working with Revit in an architectural or AEC production environment
  • Internship or professional experience supporting BIM-based project delivery (preferred)
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary coordination (architecture, structure, MEP) (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit for architectural production
  • Familiarity with Navisworks or similar model coordination tools
  • Basic understanding of BIM concepts, including: Model coordination, Clash detection, BIM Execution Plans, Level of Development (LOD)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards consistently
