Job Description

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is looking for a skilled Billing Specialist to join our client in Reno, Nevada. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in managing billing operations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining client confidentiality. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with expertise in medical billing and a strong ability to handle detailed financial reconciliations.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze aging reports to ensure timely payments and resolve any outstanding balances before they become problematic
  • Manage self-pay accounts by reconciling individual accounts, posting payments, and addressing customer inquiries regarding balances and refunds
  • Process refunds and reconcile accounts on a weekly basis, while also generating client credit reports monthly
  • Balance payments with credit card receipts and provide detailed reports to the bookkeeping team
  • Handle secondary insurance billing by reconciling monthly aging reports, creating and submitting claims, and retrieving Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) while maintaining confidentiality
  • Submit manual claims when required and assist with posting payments to accounts
  • Investigate rejected claims, initiate appeals, and make corrections to ensure successful processing
  • Maintain a meticulous and efficient interaction with employees and directors across the organization

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounts receivable, or medical billing
  • Proficient in medical coding, collections, claims, and accounts receivable processes
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and cash reconciliations
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality in all billing and financial operations
