Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Billing Specialist III to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing billing processes, ensuring accuracy, and providing support to internal teams and clients. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead and train team members effectively.

Job Responsibility:

  • Validate weekly data submissions to verify invoices are accurately processed through third-party platforms
  • Review and approve or reject credit memos requested by Billing or Accounts Receivable representatives, providing clear feedback on rejection reasons
  • Analyze and correct billing errors on rejected invoices, ensuring resubmission within five business days of notification
  • Collaborate with the billing team, clients, and internal stakeholders to provide leadership and support
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses to identify process inefficiencies, system issues, or areas for improvement
  • Assist in testing and implementing new processes or systems for billing-related tasks
  • Provide backup coverage for Billing Administrators during absences or high-demand periods such as month-end
  • Train and mentor new employees, offering guidance and ongoing support
  • Support upper management with billing-related tasks and reporting
  • Process agent invoice submissions and coach billing staff to address performance improvement areas

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in billing functions, including invoice validation, collections, and statement preparation
  • Proficiency in working with computerized billing systems and platforms
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to train and guide team members
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle high-pressure situations during peak billing periods
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and process improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively
