Billing representative

• Review, process, and respond to subpoenas, attorney correspondence, and billing record requests in a timely and accurate manner
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, federal/state laws, and internal organizational policies regarding the release of patient information
• Verify authenticity and completeness of legal documents before proceeding with any release
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather and deliver accurate billing records and supporting documentation
• Maintain thorough documentation of all incoming requests, correspondence, and released information
• Communicate clearly and professionally with legal representatives to clarify or update record requests
• Protect sensitive patient data and ensure confidentiality throughout all processes
• Escalate complex or unclear requests to legal or supervisory teams for resolution
• Support continuous process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy
• Stay informed of legal and regulatory changes impacting medical billing record releases

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Ability to work independently and manage high volumes of sensitive information
• Clear communication and customer service skills
• Prior experience in medical billing
