My client is a Global Law firm located in downtown Washington, D.C. with a need for an experienced Billing Manager. The Billing Manager will report to the Director of Finance and be responsible for preparing invoices and overseeing a team of Billing Coordinators. This is an exciting new opportunity that provides career growth and new daily challenges.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain a thorough knowledge of client terms, discount arrangements, lawyer and client preferences while managing the complete billing process for assigned billing responsible attorneys
Provide strategic oversight of the billing department including implementing process improvements and efficiencies
Manage rates and complex billing arrangements
Manage the production of firm standard billing proformas for review by billing responsible attorneys each month
Performance management for the billing coordinators, e-billing specialist, and team lead
Edit and finalize invoices based on instructions provided by the billing responsible attorneys and client guidelines
Submit electronic invoices via e-billing guidelines
Respond to information requests from Partners, lawyers, clients and staff related to client billings
Manage invoices submitted through the various e-billing systems to ensure submission
Produce monthly statements for outstanding invoices and send same to clients
Requirements:
5+ years supervisory Billing Experience in a law firm
Must have experience with 3E or Adherent
Must have great critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Must be strong in Microsoft Excel Skills
A minimum of 5 years of experience in billing management or a related field
Strong expertise in auditing and financial processes
Proficiency in legal billing practices and familiarity with industry standards
Hands-on experience with accounts receivable systems and related workflows
Advanced knowledge of accounting software, particularly Elite 3E
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting financial data
