We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Follow Up Associate to support reimbursement activities for a Contract position based in Roseville, California. In this role, you will work with patients, public programs, and commercial payers to help resolve billing issues, address unpaid claims, and support accurate payment outcomes. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is organized, comfortable handling routine processes, and able to maintain quality and productivity in a fast-paced healthcare billing environment.
Job Responsibility
Investigate outstanding insurance and patient accounts to identify barriers to payment and take appropriate follow-up action
Prepare, review, and submit claims accurately to the correct payer sources in accordance with established billing procedures
Communicate with patients, government programs, and third-party insurers to obtain information needed for reimbursement and account resolution
Partner with internal departments to clarify charges, obtain coding-related updates, and gather documentation for claim reconsiderations or appeals
Resolve denied, delayed, or past-due claims by researching account details and pursuing the next required collection step
Process account corrections, including approved write-offs and debit or credit adjustments, while maintaining accurate records
Track daily work against productivity and quality expectations and complete assignments within defined guidelines
Provide general administrative and office support related to billing operations and perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Associate degree, technical training, or a comparable combination of education and related experience preferred
Prior experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare reimbursement preferred
Working knowledge of claims processing, payer follow-up, account adjustments, and collection practices
Ability to communicate clearly with patients, insurance representatives, and internal teams
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage routine tasks accurately and efficiently
Comfortable following established procedures, meeting performance expectations, and handling a consistent workload
Ability to meet applicable employment conditions, including required vaccinations where legally applicable
