We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team in Tempe, Arizona. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in billing and financial processes. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and issue accurate invoices based on completed service activities, schedules, and customer agreements
Review billing data, service records, and pricing details to confirm compliance and completeness of invoices
Collaborate with operational and field teams to verify billable work and resolve any discrepancies
Ensure contract terms, rate structures, and customer requirements are accurately reflected in billing
Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up with customers to address unpaid or overdue invoices
Communicate professionally with clients to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies
Assist in resolving disputes to facilitate timely payments and maintain account accuracy
Maintain billing schedules and track items that are unbilled or delayed
Support month-end close processes, including reconciliations and revenue reporting
Identify areas for improvement in billing accuracy, collection processes, and internal controls
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to handle high-volume transactional data
Experience with accounting or billing software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Viewpoint Vista
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure consistent accuracy in billing
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and resolving billing issues
Familiarity with basic revenue recognition principles
Problem-solving skills and initiative to improve billing processes and efficiency
At least 1 year of experience in billing, accounting, or a related field
