We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to support billing operations for a legal organization in Lincoln, Nebraska. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage invoicing accurately, follow up on outstanding balances, and maintain organized billing records within a computerized billing environment. The role requires strong attention to detail, consistency in handling statements, and the ability to work effectively with billing systems and collection-related tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and distribute accurate invoices and billing statements in a timely manner
Review billing information for completeness and correct discrepancies before processing
Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue balances through appropriate collection activities
Maintain up-to-date customer and account records within the billing system
Process routine billing transactions using computerized tools and internal software
Respond to billing-related questions and provide clear support regarding charges and account status
Reconcile billing data to help ensure financial records remain accurate and current
Requirements:
Experience handling billing duties in an administrative or accounting support role
Working knowledge of invoice preparation, account follow-up, and statement processing
Ability to use computerized billing systems with accuracy and efficiency
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies
Comfortable managing collection-related tasks with strong attention to detail
Proficiency with standard computer applications and data entry
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to stay organized while managing recurring billing deadlines
