Job Description:

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will play a key part in handling customer invoices, ensuring billing accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of financial records. This is a long-term contract position with a hybrid schedule (1-day remote), with an initial training period conducted entirely on-site.

Job Responsibility:

  • Generate customer invoices with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with established procedures
  • Review and analyze customer accounts to verify accurate billing and resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Conduct data integrity checks and investigate any questionable items prior to finalizing invoices
  • Compile and validate revenue data, collaborating with team members to ensure precision
  • Create and revise manual invoices as required to meet unique customer needs
  • Research and address customer billing issues, including adjustments and credit balances
  • Process refund requests and billing adjustments in accordance with company policies
  • Utilize billing systems and tools effectively to perform tasks efficiently and with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing improvements in billing processes
  • Adhere to company controls and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification
  • Minimum of one year of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related accounting/finance role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills, including data entry and ten-key operations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and customers
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and clients
  • Familiarity with financial controls and standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
