Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing and Collections Specialist to join our client's team in Brooklyn, New York. In this role, you will manage various billing and collection activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. If you have experience in construction billing or familiarity with lien waivers and AIA billing, you will thrive in this fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the complete monthly billing process, including preparing invoices, securing necessary approvals, and ensuring timely submissions
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets for clients, ensuring data accuracy and organization
  • Handle change orders and manage billing processes, including follow-ups on lien waivers for subcontractors
  • Collaborate with project managers to support reporting and provide necessary financial insights
  • Assist in audit-related activities by preparing and organizing relevant documentation
  • Ensure compliance with billing standards and practices, particularly in construction-related projects
  • Work closely with the controller to finalize and notarize invoices as required
  • Provide support in resolving billing discrepancies and client inquiries in a timely manner

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in billing, collections, or a related role
  • Familiarity with construction billing processes, including AIA billing and lien waivers, is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in managing large client portfolios and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Strong skills in billing systems and the ability to work efficiently with spreadsheets
