We are seeking a Customs & Trade Compliance Counsel (Spanish/English bilingual) to join our team in support of a leading global technology client. This role focuses on customs valuation, classification, and country of origin analysis, with a particular emphasis on e-commerce and express shipments. We are looking for a hands-on attorney with strong experience advising on U.S. and international customs regulations and supporting businesses operating within complex global supply chains. The ideal candidate will bring practical in-house experience, sound regulatory judgment, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Job Responsibility:
Advise on customs compliance matters, including valuation, classification, and country of origin determinations for imported goods
Review, draft, and negotiate documentation related to import/export compliance, low-value shipments, express shipments, and global trade regulations
Counsel business teams on regulatory risks and compliance strategies impacting U.S. and cross-border trade operations
Monitor developments in customs and trade laws and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders
Partner with logistics, supply chain, operations, and legal teams to ensure adherence to customs requirements
Support development and implementation of internal trade compliance policies, governance frameworks, and training initiatives
Requirements:
Fluency in both Spanish and English (required)
Experience advising on customs valuation, tariff classification, and country of origin rules (required)
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Demonstrated experience advising businesses on U.S. and international customs compliance matters
Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have:
Prior in-house experience supporting global trade or supply chain operations
Experience advising on e-commerce models, low-value air shipments, or express carrier frameworks
Familiarity with global trade compliance programs and internal controls
Ability to thrive in a flexible, project-based engagement model and collaborate across cross-functional teams
