Job Description

We are seeking a Customs & Trade Compliance Counsel (Spanish/English bilingual) to join our team in support of a leading global technology client. This role focuses on customs valuation, classification, and country of origin analysis, with a particular emphasis on e-commerce and express shipments. We are looking for a hands-on attorney with strong experience advising on U.S. and international customs regulations and supporting businesses operating within complex global supply chains. The ideal candidate will bring practical in-house experience, sound regulatory judgment, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Advise on customs compliance matters, including valuation, classification, and country of origin determinations for imported goods
  • Review, draft, and negotiate documentation related to import/export compliance, low-value shipments, express shipments, and global trade regulations
  • Counsel business teams on regulatory risks and compliance strategies impacting U.S. and cross-border trade operations
  • Monitor developments in customs and trade laws and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders
  • Partner with logistics, supply chain, operations, and legal teams to ensure adherence to customs requirements
  • Support development and implementation of internal trade compliance policies, governance frameworks, and training initiatives

Requirements

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (required)
  • Experience advising on customs valuation, tariff classification, and country of origin rules (required)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Demonstrated experience advising businesses on U.S. and international customs compliance matters
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

  • Prior in-house experience supporting global trade or supply chain operations
  • Experience advising on e-commerce models, low-value air shipments, or express carrier frameworks
  • Familiarity with global trade compliance programs and internal controls
  • Ability to thrive in a flexible, project-based engagement model and collaborate across cross-functional teams
