We are looking for a dedicated Call Center Specialist to join our team in San Diego, California. As part of a non-profit organization committed to improving lives and fostering community well-being, you will play a vital role in connecting individuals to essential services and resources. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an opportunity to grow within a mission-driven environment that values compassion and excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle incoming inquiries professionally, providing accurate information, referrals, and assistance to meet client needs
  • Record all interactions promptly and accurately using web-based documentation systems
  • Stay informed about available services, resources, and programs to provide the most up-to-date support
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and resolution of client concerns
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring clear and empathetic communication
  • Utilize CRM tools and other computer programs to track and manage client interactions effectively
  • Assist clients with billing inquiries, benefit-related questions, and other service-related needs
  • Respond to chat-based inquiries and navigate web-based platforms efficiently
  • Uphold organizational values while addressing customer concerns and fostering positive experiences

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • equivalent experience and education beyond high school will be considered
  • At least 1–2 years of call center experience in a customer-facing role is highly desirable
  • Background in public health, social work, psychology, sociology, criminology, or related fields is advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and empathetically
  • High proficiency in web-based systems, CRM tools, chat platforms, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Avaya CMS, Epic Software, and other relevant tools is preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is strongly recommended
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
