Job Description

Located in the heart of Canada's capital next door to the Parliament Buildings, the landmark Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is looking to fill a role of Server ( Full-Time).

Job Responsibility

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2-3 years server experience in a similar fine dining/upscale environment
  • Previous point of sale system experiences an asset
  • W=set or other certification will also be considered an asset but not required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent in both official languages would be a strong asset
  • Smart Serve Certification required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Passing grade on the written recruitment and final server exam
  • Available to 5 shifts per week including all holidays and hours of operation
