Job Description:

Kalos Services is in search of a dynamic and experienced Bilingual (Spanish/English) Safety Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for recognizing and controlling exposures in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple trades working throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of safety requirements, and the ability to build collaborative teams to reduce and control exposures within the work site.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and exposures on multiple construction sites
Execute policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and those of our customers
Provide guidance and support to superintendents, project managers, and trades to ensure a safe work environment
Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks to educate workers and site leaders on safety practices and promote a culture that values safety throughout sites
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are met and maintained in accordance with OSHA and our customers’ requirements
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in construction safety, and incorporate them into our culture
Foster open communication channels to encourage reporting of safety concerns and near misses
Lead safety committee meetings and actively engage with employees to address their safety concerns and suggestions

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements, particularly in the construction industry
Proven experience implementing safety programs and policies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with and influence employees at all levels
Strong observation and analytical skills to identify potential hazards and develop effective control measures and the recognition of exposure
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple trades and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a collaborative, safety-focused team
OSHA 30 Construction is a requirement
Excellent driving record
Bi-lingual Spanish/English candidates encouraged to apply
Must be comfortable speaking publicly to groups of employees
Travel is required within the state of Florida

Nice to have:

Professional certifications, such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), are highly desirable
Prior experience in construction safety or a related field is preferred
