Job Description:

Kalos Services is in search of a dynamic and experienced Bilingual (Spanish/English) Safety Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for recognizing and controlling exposures in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple trades working throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of safety requirements, and the ability to build collaborative teams to reduce and control exposures within the work site.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and exposures on multiple construction sites
  • Execute policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and those of our customers
  • Provide guidance and support to superintendents, project managers, and trades to ensure a safe work environment
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks to educate workers and site leaders on safety practices and promote a culture that values safety throughout sites
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are met and maintained in accordance with OSHA and our customers’ requirements
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in construction safety, and incorporate them into our culture
  • Foster open communication channels to encourage reporting of safety concerns and near misses
  • Lead safety committee meetings and actively engage with employees to address their safety concerns and suggestions

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements, particularly in the construction industry
  • Proven experience implementing safety programs and policies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with and influence employees at all levels
  • Strong observation and analytical skills to identify potential hazards and develop effective control measures and the recognition of exposure
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple trades and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a collaborative, safety-focused team
  • OSHA 30 Construction is a requirement
  • Excellent driving record
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English candidates encouraged to apply
  • Must be comfortable speaking publicly to groups of employees
  • Travel is required within the state of Florida

Nice to have:

  • Professional certifications, such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), are highly desirable
  • Prior experience in construction safety or a related field is preferred
