Are you a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional looking to kickstart or grow your career within a major financial institution? We are seeking a Bilingual Operations Officer II to join our dynamic CPB Operations team in Montreal. This is a 1-year contract position with strong potential for extension or permanent conversion. Operating entirely as a back-office role (no customer phone work), you will handle a variety of financial movement tasks, including wire payments, electronic transfers, and Visa money transfers. If you are a quick learner who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a sharp eye for accuracy, this role offers an incredible foot in the door to the banking industry.

Job Responsibility

  • Processing wire payments, electronic transfers, and Visa money transfers accurately and on time
  • Prioritizing own workload to meet strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while adhering to internal and industry regulations (including Anti-Money Laundering frameworks)
  • Investigating and escalating non-standard or high-risk activities appropriately
  • Managing sensitive information with total confidentiality
  • Actively reviewing internal activities and providing ideas to elevate service quality and process efficiency
  • Partnering with teammates, cross-training on multiple internal desks, and assisting with special projects or initiatives as needed

Requirements

  • Fully bilingual in English and French (strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must (experience with formulas, data entry, and pivot tables)
  • 1 to 2 years of overall professional experience, ideally within a trade processing, cash products (loans, deposits, swaps), or similar corporate operations environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow strict compliance procedures
  • Positive attitude
  • Openness to constructive feedback/coaching
  • Adaptability to changing processes
  • History of job stability (no frequent job-hopping)

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Prior experience in banking or financial services
  • Understanding of Money Market (MM) or Foreign Exchange (FX) products
  • Experience or knowledge of AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot)
  • Familiarity with Global and WSS platforms

What we offer

  • Career Growth: Direct opportunity to be hired permanently by a top-tier bank
  • Dynamic Workday: Move between a variety of engaging tasks rather than doing repetitive data entry all day
  • No Phone Work: This is a 100% back-office operational role
  • Robust Training: Receive comprehensive, structured training and mentorship for the first 6 months
  • Great Culture: Join a supportive, highly collaborative team of 11 professionals with a positive, growth-oriented mindset
