Job Description

The Bilingual Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing professional, courteous, and efficient front‑office support in a healthcare setting. This role is responsible for patient check‑in, scheduling, insurance verification, and administrative support, while communicating effectively in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate is customer‑service oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced medical environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Greet and assist patients in person and by phone in English and Spanish
  • Perform patient check‑in and check‑out, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect co‑pays or payments as required
  • Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
  • Manage incoming calls, messages, and patient inquiries in a professional manner
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support clinic workflow
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office
  • Follow HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines at all times
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare front‑desk role preferred
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and front‑office procedures
  • Experience using EHR systems and basic office equipment preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information with professionalism and discretion
