Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized, focused, and detail-oriented Bilingual Operations Officer to join our Commercial Credit Centre team. This role is crucial for completing annual credit reviews for a portfolio of Commercial Banking borrowers. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with a strong possibility of extension and conversion, offering a chance to gain valuable experience in a critical area of commercial finance operations. Join a high-volume operations team in the financial services sector, focusing on essential back-office support for Commercial Banking. This bilingual role offers significant exposure to commercial credit processes, financial statement analysis, and lending policies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Underwriting & Review: Responsible for the complete underwriting of annual commercial credit reviews across a wide range of industries
  • Financial Analysis: Read, understand, and analyze commercial borrowers' financial statements to assess risk
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to lending policies and procedures, including accurate risk rating assessment
  • Documentation: Maintain a keen attention to detail and high degree of data input accuracy throughout the review process
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Communicate effectively and clearly with internal partners/Commercial Banking Centres regarding review status and required information
  • Productivity: Work efficiently to meet daily productivity targets in a high-volume, high-pressure environment while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Teamwork: Function effectively as an independent worker with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team player

Requirements:

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in reading and writing in both French and English
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Proven ability to read and understand complex financial statements
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated high attention to detail in previous roles
  • Exceptional Attention to Detail and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to work independently and exercise critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A focused, results- and goal-oriented mindset, with the ability to maintain high work quality under pressure
  • Education: Minimum post-secondary degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent credit experience
  • Experience: 2-4 years of overall professional experience, ideally in a financial or administrative setting

  • Background in Finance or Accounting
  • Prior experience in a banking or financial institution environment
