Big Data Senior Developer

• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development
• Monitor and control all phases of development process (analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation)
• Provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to analyze complex problems/issues
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Operate with limited level of direct supervision
• Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders
• Assess risk when business decisions are made

• 8+ years of Development experience
• Expertise in Hadoop Ecosystem (HDFS, Impala, HIVE, HBASE, etc.)
• Java Server side development working in Low latency applications
• Scala programming skills
• Spark expertise (micro batching, EOD/real time)
• Data Analyst preferably using SQL
• Financial background preferable
• Python
• Linux
• A history of delivering against agreed objectives
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Ability to pick up new concepts and apply the knowledge
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Enthusiastic and proactive approach with willingness to learn
• Excellent analytical and process-based skills (process flow diagrams, business modelling, functional design)
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
