The BI Tester role involves validating data pipelines and BI reports for insurance analytics. Candidates should have 3-6 years of experience in BI testing, with strong SQL skills and familiarity with ETL processes. Experience in the insurance domain is preferred but not mandatory. The position requires collaboration with data engineers and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute data and BI test cases for insurance datasets
Validate data across: Source systems (policy, claims, billing), Data warehouse / lakehouse, BI dashboards and reports
Perform source-to-target reconciliation
Validate business rules, aggregations, and calculations (e.g., premiums, loss ratios)
Identify, log, and track defects with clear evidence
Support regression testing for releases and enhancements
Produce test execution summaries and data quality status reports
Requirements:
Total Experience: 3–6 years in BI testing / data testing roles
Relevant BI / Data Testing Experience: 2–4+ years
Insurance Domain Experience: Preferred but not mandatory
Strong SQL for data validation and reconciliation
Experience testing data warehouses and BI reports
Understanding of ETL / ELT processes
Familiarity with data quality dimensions: Completeness, Accuracy, Consistency, Timeliness
Experience with defect tracking and test management tools
Nice to have:
Experience testing Snowflake or cloud-based data platforms
Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
Experience in financial services or regulated industries
