The Beverage Manager oversees all aspects of the hotel’s beverage program, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and personalized service across all outlets. This position is responsible for managing beverage operations, including bars, lounges, restaurants, and in-room dining, while maintaining compliance with Four Seasons standards and local regulations. The Beverage Manager ensures a superior guest experience by curating an innovative beverage offering and supporting flawless execution by the team. This role is also responsible for training and developing staff, monitoring inventory and cost controls, maintaining supplier relationships, and fostering a collaborative and professional work environment that reflects the highest standards of hospitality.
Job Responsibility:
Design and update the beverage menu in collaboration with the operations team, considering current industry trends, customer preferences, and the overall concept of each outlet.
Source and select high-quality beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, to enhance the overall dining or drinking experience.
Monitor and manage beverage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, minimizing waste, and controlling costs for all operations.
Implement inventory control systems and procedures to track usage, conduct regular stock assessments, and place orders as needed.
Develop and maintain relationships with beverage suppliers and distributors to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and promotions.
Stay informed about new products, trends, and industry developments to keep the beverage program competitive and innovative.
Implement and enforce quality control standards for beverage preparation and presentation.
Monitor customer feedback and address any concerns related to the beverage offerings promptly.
Implement pricing strategies that balance guest satisfaction with financial goals and consistently keep a track of market changes and adapt to the price changes in beverage supply within the city.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotions, events, and marketing strategies to drive beverage sales within the hotel.
Utilize social media and other platforms to showcase the beverage program and attract guests.
Staff applies the necessary precautions with regards to the hotel Food Safety and Hygiene Standards.
Proper and tactful handling of verbal complaints from guests
Constantly obtain customer feedback during operations to ensure satisfaction.
Ensure that staff are aware of and applies the procedures concerning hotel fire and life safety / emergency procedures.
Provide guidance / counselling as and when required and also complete performance review for team members in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Proven experience (5+ years) in beverage management or a senior bar leadership role within luxury hotels, high-end restaurants, or internationally recognized hospitality brands.
Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and emerging beverage trends, with formal certifications (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers) considered an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to design innovative beverage programs, including menu development, cost control, and inventory management.
Excellent leadership and team development skills, with a track record of training, mentoring, and motivating diverse teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Solid financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and achieving revenue targets while maintaining quality standards.
Strong understanding of local regulations related to alcohol service, health, and safety compliance in Malaysia.
Exceptional guest engagement skills with a service-oriented mindset aligned with luxury hospitality standards.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with culinary, events, and marketing teams to create cohesive and elevated dining experiences.
Proficiency in beverage inventory systems and POS platforms.
High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language.
Must have the right to work in Malaysia.
