Job Description:

As a Battery Energy Storage System Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering technical excellence across a growing portfolio of operational and new-build BESS assets. You’ll ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of grid-scale battery systems while supporting project, commercial, and O&M teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the technical authority for BESS assets, Power Plant Controllers (PPC) and SCADA systems
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for operational BESS assets across the portfolio
  • Troubleshoot issues with suppliers and O&M partners, driving quick and effective resolutions
  • Monitor asset performance and analyse system data to identify trends and improvements
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and root cause analysis for asset and grid events
  • Assist with supplier engagement, technical specifications, and design reviews
  • Support project teams during BESS and SCADA commissioning activities
  • Ensure compliance with grid, G99, and safety standards across all projects

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s desirable)
  • Strong technical background in grid-scale BESS, renewable energy, or HV systems
  • Experience with electrical design, installation, or commissioning of energy storage or renewable projects
