Job Description

We are looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this Contract to permanent position, you will oversee the administration and management of employee benefits programs, including workers’ compensation and family leave policies. This role requires close collaboration with the human resources and business office departments to ensure seamless support for employees and compliance with regulations.

Job Responsibility

  • Administer a variety of employee benefits programs, including workers’ compensation and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) policies
  • Resolve employee inquiries and issues related to benefits by providing timely and accurate information
  • Collaborate with human resources and business office teams to coordinate benefits processes and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Maintain accurate records and reconcile discrepancies in benefits reporting
  • Provide detailed guidance to new and existing employees regarding available benefits and enrollment procedures
  • Communicate effectively with providers and administrators to ensure smooth operation of benefits programs
  • Utilize automated insurance systems to manage benefits processes efficiently
  • Stay informed about changes in employee benefits laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve benefits administration and employee satisfaction
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and maintain high levels of accuracy

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in benefits administration
  • Strong proficiency in managing automated insurance systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits programs and related regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and benefits management tools
  • Familiarity with FMLA, workers’ compensation, and human resources administration processes
