We are seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to support a growing organization of approximately 500 employees. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources, this role is heavily focused on benefits administration, leave of absence (LOA) management, and HR compliance. This position will take ownership of key benefits processes, including open enrollment and ACA reporting, while also supporting broader HR operations. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, with openness to direct hire for the right candidate.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage the full open enrollment process, including planning, coordination, and employee communication
Administer employee benefits programs and serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries
Ensure compliance with ACA requirements, including 1095 reporting and AVA tracking
Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Oversee end-to-end LOA processes, including tracking, documentation, and employee communication
Manage accommodations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies
Support a workforce with approximately 25–30 employees on leave at any given time
Utilize HRIS systems to manage data, generate reports, and support decision-making
Support workers’ compensation processes and related documentation
Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data integrity across systems
Conduct weekly new hire orientations with a focus on benefits education
Clearly explain benefit offerings, policies, and enrollment processes to employees
Provide ongoing support to employees regarding benefits and HR-related questions
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR with a strong benefits focus
Hands-on experience managing LOAs and employee accommodations
Strong knowledge of ACA compliance and benefits-related reporting (1095, AVA)
Experience with HRIS systems
Paycom experience preferred but not required
Advanced Excel skills and strong reporting capabilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
