The Benefits Specialist supports the day-to-day administration, compliance, and ongoing improvement of global benefits and Leave of Absence (LOA) programs across the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, and Canada. This role is hands-on and operational, focused on accurate execution, regulatory compliance, and clear communication with employees across health and leave programs. This position partners closely with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure benefits and leave programs are administered accurately, consistently, and compliantly at scale.
Job Responsibility:
Support administration of global benefits and Leave of Absence programs across the US, UK, Italy, and Canada, including enrollments, life events, leaves, and terminations
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits and LOA questions, escalating complex issues as needed
Support annual Open Enrollment planning and execution, including plan setup, eligibility validation, employee communications, and post-enrollment audits
Assist with year-end benefits processing such as plan year transitions, payroll deductions, and carrier file management
Partner with Payroll, HRIS, brokers, carriers, and leave vendors to ensure accurate pay, deductions, benefits continuation, and data integrity
Support benefits- and LOA-related file feeds, troubleshoot discrepancies, and assist with system testing and enhancements
Support compliance with regional benefits and leave regulations and assist with audits, reporting, and statutory filings
Help maintain audit-ready processes and identify opportunities for operational improvements
Support reporting on benefits and LOA utilization, costs, and trends to inform renewals, budgeting, and vendor management
Develop and maintain clear benefits and leave documentation and employee-facing guidance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
1–2+ years of experience supporting benefits and/or Leave of Absence administration
Experience assisting with benefits enrollments, life events, leave tracking, or employee benefits support
Exposure to benefits compliance requirements, such as ACA, FMLA, COBRA, or regional statutory leave programs, preferred
Experience working with Payroll, HRIS, or external benefits vendors
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive, regulated information accurately
Clear, professional communicator able to explain benefits and leave information in a practical, employee-friendly way
