Our Pittsburgh client is seeking a Benefits Specialist for a hybrid, contract opportunity. This role will support the administration of employee benefits programs and play a key role in open enrollment, employee education, and ongoing benefits support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable working directly with employees and vendors.
Job Responsibility
Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans
Support and help coordinate annual open enrollment, including employee communications, meetings, and system updates
Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits questions and issue resolution
Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS and vendor systems
Partner with brokers and vendors to ensure accurate plan administration
Assist with benefits compliance, reporting, and audits as needed
Maintain accurate benefits documentation and employee records
Identify opportunities to improve benefits processes and employee understanding
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
3–5+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role
Experience using Paycor for benefits administration, employee data management, and open enrollment support
Strong knowledge of employee benefits and applicable regulations
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proficiency with HRIS systems, benefits platforms, and Microsoft Office
Background checks and other pre-employment requirements apply
Nice to have
Benefits or HR certification a plus
Experience in a nonprofit or people services environment a plus
