Our client is seeking a Benefits Coordinator for a short-term contract assignment expected to run through the end of 2026. This role will primarily support U.S. leave of absence administration, with a strong preference for experience handling California leaves and added value for multi-state leave knowledge.
Job Responsibility:
Process employee leaves of absence in Workday, including entry, tracking, and extensions
Guide employees on upcoming leaves, including available time-off and pay replacement options based on company policy and state requirements
Complete California Paid Family Leave and Employment Development Department paperwork for employees going out on leave
Track and reconcile missed benefit premium deductions related to new hires, life events, and returns from leave
Code benefits invoices and submit them for payment processing
Work closely with Payroll, Accounting, and internal HR contacts
Help with additional benefits-related tasks as needed
Requirements:
Experience administering U.S. leaves of absence
California leave administration experience strongly preferred
Multi-state leave experience is a plus
Experience working with an external leave administrator is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive employee information
Comfortable with basic calculations, reconciliations, and data review
Working knowledge of Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas
Able to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday or ADP
Familiarity with U.S. employee benefits
Stronger Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Multi-state leave experience
Experience working with an external leave administrator
