Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Benefits Coordinator for a busy client in Overland Park, KS. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in managing and administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting staff with benefit-related inquiries. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design and execution of comprehensive compensation and benefits strategies that support employee well-being.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the daily administration of employee benefits programs, addressing inquiries about eligibility, enrollments, and plan details
  • Collaborate on the evaluation and recommendation of changes to benefit plans, presenting analyses to council committees when required
  • Coordinate the annual benefits renewal process, including liaising with consultants, reviewing proposals, and ensuring timely execution of plans and contracts
  • Manage the annual Open Enrollment process by preparing materials, conducting informational sessions, and verifying enrollment data
  • Maintain accurate databases for employee and retiree benefit enrollments, ensuring proper tracking of premium payments and adherence to accounting standards
  • Reconcile insurance billing statements with payroll registers to ensure timely and accurate remittance of premiums
  • Support the administration of retirement plans, including processing applications, monitoring eligibility, and assisting with participant education
  • Conduct new employee orientations, explaining benefits paperwork, assisting with enrollments, and ensuring proper documentation
  • Develop and distribute annual employee benefit statements, highlighting employer-provided benefits and compensation
  • Coordinate wellness initiatives such as biometric screenings and flu shot clinics, while promoting employee health programs through various channels

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in administering employee benefits programs, including Open Enrollment and retirement plans
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate benefit plan designs and present recommendations
  • Proficiency in maintaining databases and reconciling financial records related to benefits administration
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations impacting employee benefits
  • Excellent communication skills to conduct orientations, respond to employee inquiries, and present information to stakeholders
  • Ability to manage wellness programs and coordinate with vendors and clinic staff
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits analysis, including Section 125 plans and FMLA
  • Experience in tracking premium payments and ensuring accurate accounting processes
