The Role You will be responsible for assessing Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Support claims, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with current legislation.
Job Responsibility:
Assess new and change of circumstance claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support
Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits legislation and policy
Provide excellent customer service when dealing with enquiries
Work collaboratively within a team to manage workload effectively
Requirements:
Proven experience working as a Benefits Assessor within a local authority
Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support regulations
Experience using relevant systems (e.g. Northgate/Capita or similar)
