The Bell Attendant is responsible for creating a positive first and last impression for hotel guests by providing a warm welcome, assisting with luggage handling, and offering attentive and personalized service throughout the arrival and departure experience. As a key part of the front-of-house team, the Bellboy plays a vital role in ensuring guest satisfaction and supporting seamless operations in the lobby area.
Job Responsibility:
Greets guests who arrive by private car, taxi, or limo by opening their car door and welcoming them to the hotel
Assists guests descending from cars and issues appropriate valet parking ticket to guests who want car parked
Gives verbal greeting to guests arriving or departing on foot
Opens hotel doors for all guests
Escorts guests to their rooms delivering their luggage upon check-in and picks up luggage from room upon departure
Unloads guest luggage from car, tags it and issues claim tickets to the guest
Loads guest luggage to car upon their departure
Assures the smooth flow of traffic on the drive by directing guest cars and taxis to the appropriate positions
Provides guests with directions, recommendations, and information about the city and its attractions. Hails taxis as needed
Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible
Assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, etc
Greets all guests passing through Front Door and offers them assistance if needed
Provides a high level of cleanliness on the driveway and hotel entrance
Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
Ability to project an image of friendliness, professionalism, and willingness to provide personalized services to guests
Ability to work closely with the Front Office
Ability to keep the Front Desk well informed as to any guest problems, special requests, complaints, etc
Ability to maneuver luggage carts, heavy and awkward crates around the hotel
Ability to report deficiencies noted in guest room and on guest floors to the Front Desk staff
Ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
Ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff
Requirements:
Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
Must have excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
Must be able to prioritize and multi-task, and have a high attention to detail
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, overnight, weekends & holidays
Physical by nature, this position requires standing for 8 hours per shift and requires candidates to have the ability to lift and push
High school education or equivalent experience is required
