Job Description

We are seeking dedicated specialists to work within SEND Schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). This role is designed for those who want to support students with complex SEMH needs, Autism, or ADHD, helping them manage their emotions and find success in a way that works for them. Therapeutic Focus: Move beyond traditional discipline. Use trauma-informed approaches to help students understand their feelings and self-regulate. Specialist Environment: Work in small class sizes with high staff-to-pupil ratios, allowing you to build deep, meaningful bonds with the students you support. Career Progression: Exceptional experience for those looking to move into Counselling, SEN Teaching, or Behavioural Therapy. Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £90 - £95 per day, paid every Friday via Randstad.

Job Responsibility

  • De-escalation & crisis support
  • Personalised mentoring: work 1:1 to implement Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs)
  • Social & life skills: help students develop tools to communicate their needs effectively
  • Holistic tracking: work with Therapists, SENCOs, and families

Requirements

  • Unflappable: calm, non-confrontational manner, maintain composure during high-stress situations
  • Empathetic: look past challenging behaviour to understand trauma or neurodiversity
  • Relevant Experience: experience in SEND, youth work, residential care, or background in Psychology
  • Committed: hold enhanced DBS on update service or willing to apply, dedicated to Safeguarding
