Job Description

Behavioural Support Assistant role in Bedford, Bedfordshire, working within SEND Schools and Pupil Referral Units to support students with complex SEMH needs, Autism, or ADHD. Full-time, term-time only, temporary position with daily rate of £90-£95.

Job Responsibility

  • Use trauma-informed approaches to help students understand their feelings and self-regulate
  • De-escalation and crisis support using specialist training
  • Work 1:1 to implement Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs)
  • Help students develop social and life skills
  • Work closely with Therapists, SENCOs, and families for holistic well-being

Requirements

  • experience in SEND, youth work, residential care, or a background in Psychology
  • enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • calm, non-confrontational manner
