Your Role as a Behavioural MentorAs a Behavioural Support Assistant, you are a role model and a guide, helping students navigate the complexities of school life. De-escalation & Support: Recognise triggers and use low-level de-escalation techniques to prevent classroom disruptions and keep students on task. 1:1 & Small Group Mentorship: Work closely with specific students to build rapport, improve their social skills, and boost their self-esteem through structured intervention. Inclusion Support: Assist the school's Inclusion or "Bridge" unit, providing a safe space for students who find the mainstream classroom environment overwhelming. Collaborative Strategy: Work alongside the SENCO and Pastoral Leads to implement individual behaviour plans (IBPs) and ensure a consistent approach to student welfare.
