Behavioural Support Assistant | SEMH & Mentorship | Local Secondary Schools. Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). We are seeking dedicated Behavioural Mentors to work with students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Years 7-11). Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £90 - £95 per day, paid every Friday via Randstad. Your Role as a Behavioural Mentor. As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you are a role model and a guide, helping students navigate the complexities of school life. De-escalation & Support: Recognise triggers and use low-level de-escalation techniques to prevent classroom disruptions and keep students on task. 1:1 & Small Group Mentorship: Work closely with specific students to build rapport, improve their social skills, and boost their self-esteem through structured intervention. Inclusion Support: Assist the school's Inclusion or 'Bridge' unit, providing a safe space for students who find the mainstream classroom environment overwhelming. Collaborative Strategy: Work alongside the SENCO and Pastoral Leads to implement individual behaviour plans (IBPs) and ensure a consistent approach to student welfare. Essential Requirements. Have Relevant Experience: This could be from a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit), youth work, sports coaching, residential care, or even a background in psychology or the police/military. Are a Strong Communicator: You can build trust with 'hard-to-reach' teenagers while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
