Behavioural Support Assistant | SEND & SEMH Specialist | Local Specialist Schools. Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). Join our specialist network as a Behavioural Support Assistant and work with students who need a steady, compassionate mentor to help them navigate their education. Transform Lives through Connection, Not Just Correction. We are seeking dedicated specialists to work within SEND Schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). This role is designed for those who want to support students with complex SEMH needs, Autism, or ADHD, helping them manage their emotions and find success in a way that works for them.
Job Responsibility
De-escalation & Crisis Support: use specialist training to manage challenging moments and help students return to a state of calm
Personalised Mentoring: work 1:1 to implement Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs), using sensory breaks and positive reinforcement to build confidence
Social & Life Skills: help students develop tools to communicate their needs effectively
Holistic Tracking: work closely with Therapists, SENCOs, and families to ensure a 360-degree approach to student's well-being and progress
Requirements
Unflappable: calm, non-confrontational manner
maintain composure during high-stress situations
Empathetic: look past challenging behaviour to understand trauma or neurodiversity
Relevant Experience in SEND, youth work, residential care, or background in Psychology
Committed: enhanced DBS on update service (or willing to apply)
