Job Responsibility:
Use trauma-informed approaches to help students understand their feelings and self-regulate
Use specialist training to safely manage challenging moments and help students return to calm
Work 1:1 to implement Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs), using sensory breaks and positive reinforcement
Help students develop tools to communicate their needs effectively
Work closely with Therapists, SENCOs, and families for a 360-degree approach to student well-being
Requirements:
Experience in SEND, youth work, residential care, or a background in Psychology is highly desirable
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
Unflappable: calm, non-confrontational manner
Empathetic: can look past challenging behaviour to see the child
