Job Responsibility

  • De-escalation & Support: Recognise triggers and use low-level de-escalation techniques to prevent classroom disruptions and keep students on task
  • 1:1 & Small Group Mentorship: Work closely with specific students to build rapport, improve their social skills and boost their self-esteem through structured intervention
  • Inclusion Support: Assist the school's Inclusion or 'Bridge' unit, providing a safe space for students who find the mainstream classroom environment overwhelming
  • Collaborative Strategy: Work alongside the SENCO and Pastoral Leads to implement individual behaviour plans (IBPs) and ensure a consistent approach to student welfare

Requirements

  • Are naturally resilient
  • have relevant experience from a PRU, youth work, sports coaching, residential care, or a background in psychology or the police/military
  • are a strong communicator
  • are committed
  • hold an enhanced DBS (or are willing to apply)
  • are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding and child welfare
  • experience in teaching
  • ability to track progression in attainment
