We are seeking dedicated, resilient, and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Gloucester.
Job Responsibility
Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours
Promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
Encourage student engagement, participation, and attendance
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Support pupils with SEMH and SEN needs
Work alongside teachers to deliver tailored support plans
Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing
Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
Passionate about supporting children and young people
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
Experience working with young people, education, care, coaching, or support services (desirable but not essential)
Can confidently manage challenging behaviour in a professional manner
Committed to promoting positive outcomes for every student
