About the role: Justteachers is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a specialist behavioural school in Northampton. This full-time role is due to begin in June 2026 and will continue for the full academic year. The school supports students aged 11 to 19 who present with behavioural challenges and additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), ADHD, ASD, and other associated learning difficulties. Job Responsibility
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual behavioural and learning needs
Support students in managing behaviour using consistent routines and de-escalation strategies
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide holistic support
Build positive and trusting relationships with students
Assist in maintaining a safe, calm, and respectful learning environment
Support students with personal care where required
Requirements
A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant transferable experience
Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs, SEMH, or within a care-based setting
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
The ability to adapt and respond positively within a challenging environment
A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
