Job Description

Behaviour Support Assistant – Portsmouth – September Start. Are you confident supporting children and young people who may struggle within mainstream education? Pink Tile Education are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant for a specialist school in Portsmouth from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term role with the opportunity to move onto a permanent contract. The setting supports pupils with: SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, Trauma-related behaviours, Emotional regulation difficulties. The successful candidate will: Build positive professional relationships with pupils, Support behaviour management strategies, Encourage engagement within lessons, Help pupils regulate emotions and access learning, Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff. Experience within schools is beneficial, however candidates from: Residential support, Youth work, Sports coaching, Care work, Mental health support, Behaviour mentoring are all encouraged to apply. Pay: £93 – £98 per day. Contract: Full-time | Temp to Perm | September Start. All applicants MUST: Hold a DBS on the Update Service, Have up-to-date safeguarding training, Be comfortable supporting challenging behaviour.
