We are recruiting dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a highly supportive independent specialist school in Burstow. Working with secondary-aged students who have SEMH needs, ADHD, ASD and associated behavioural challenges, you'll help create a safe, structured environment where students can rebuild confidence, develop positive behaviours and re-engage with education.
Job Responsibility
Support secondary-aged pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence
Build strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people
Support learning both inside and outside the classroom
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to help students achieve their goals
Act as a consistent and positive role model
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring or similar)
Right to work in the UK
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Confidence in supporting and managing challenging behaviour positively
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being

What we offer
Temp-to-Perm opportunity with a permanent contract after 12 weeks
£93-£100 per day during the initial agency period
Permanent salary of £22,000-£23,000 (dependent on experience)
